Wanna Make It A "Barrier-Free"(Accessible) Web Site

Last update: 3/13/05

To make this new website, I have a small wish.
I would like to make this site friendly to all.
I don't want to tell my stories every one really, I mean all my friends.
Friends in Japan and in the states, friends who don't speak Japanese,
friends who use speaking browsers or cell phones
(cell phone that can browse web is now popular in Japan),
and friends who need to change display colors or font size.

We have friends in the states where Nicky had trained for 1 year and 4 months, I would like to show them how he is now.

I would like my blind/visually impared or deaf/hearing impared friends not to feel out of place in this website.

And I myself, who is visually impared and use black background and large white font, also would like to enjoy it.

So I've found these things to do...
1 Translate some pages into English.
(Translating all pages maybe impossible, because of my writing style)

2 No music.
(Music may bother speaking browsers and not enjoyable for deaf/hearing impared persons)

3 Captions on pictures/graphics, by using ALT tag.

4 Texts/icons with link must be large enough, for easy use to persons with difficulty to use mouse.

5 Check the displaying with different colors and font sizes by "user assistance" of Windows.
(Even only with my own computer...)

6 Don't specify font size or position, for site visitors can change font size on browser on demand.

7 Don't change scrolle bar color and pointer's style, for whom need there own specify color/style.

8 As general, black texts on white or pale colored background.

9 Navigation on the top of each page, that could be skipped on a speaking browser.

10 Make text-only pages.
*Nov/03, temporary cosed the text pages for the capacity of this site is very small, but will re-open the text pages.

11 Ask speaking browser users, cell phone users, persons with different OS/browsers and English speakers, to let me know by e-mail, when they feel something to change.

12 Now using tables for designing pages, but will change to use CSS.
Yes, I would be grateful if you could send a mail and let me know about how you see or hear on your computer, or how I should write in English.
For I am still not good at using computer and making website, please tell me not only what is the problem but also how to solve, if it needs quick solution.

When you need to, you can send a mail from the icon below.
Thank you.
